Volunteer Opportunities

The Land Trust board is seeking volunteer help on a variety of interesting projects. We invite you to join us in any of the following activities. Please contact PLT Volunteer Coordinator, Lynn Kay, at elynnkay@hotmail.com to volunteer your help.

Trail Crew
The trail crew consists of Phippsburg Land Trust board members and volunteers who meet mostly in the spring and fall usually on Sunday mornings to develop and build new trails and to clear, maintain and mark existing trails. Being outside and hiking are side benefits. No prior experience is necessary.

Communications Gang
Any time we prepare mass mailings, help would be appreciated for such tasks as affixing labels or postage and arranging mail by zip code. Occasionally we even write short messages by hand on post cards--that personal touch.

Special Events
Would you be interested in helping with our Annual Meeting, helping to host a meeting of visiting canoeists, or designing a Phippsburg Land Trust display?

Invasive Plants Platoon
Non-indigenous invasive plant species such as purple loosestrife can choke out all other vegetation and remove necessary habitat for the life and well-being of many native animals, birds, reptiles and insects.

Guided Walk Leader
If you would like to lead a walk at one of our preserves, either a general or topic-oriented jaunt, let us know! We are always seeking willing leaders. Or, maybe you could suggest the name of someone who would be a good leader?
