Guided Walks 2009
Our walks are leisurely and educational in tone. We invite you to enjoy these special outings without charge. As the Phippsburg Land Trust is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization, we welcome all to become members.
What to Bring:
We suggest long pants, long sleeves and sturdy shoes with socks. Bring a sweater, raingear and hat if weather suggests. Insect repellant is a must. Some walkers like to bring water. Walks go rain or shine (except in downpours).

Location to be determined
Saturday, September 19, 9 am – 11am
Peter Goodwin, Geologist and Historian, Leader
In previous years, Peter has led walks at the Ridgewell Preserve and Totman Cove, exploring the mysteries of what we usually refer to as “ledge,” (as in, “That’s nothing but ledge; you can’t build there.”). Peter says we’re really talking about bedrock. Come find out more! Meet at the parking lot at the Phippsburg Town Hall, Rte 209, to carpool to Peter’s selected site.

"Hawk Watch 2009"
Morse’s River
Saturday, September 26 or October 3, 9 am
(Rain dates: September 27 or October 4)
Larry Barnes, Leader
Preregistration required!
Join Larry for a view of the world of raptors, swooping by Popham and Small Point as they travel their annual migration route. The date of this walk will vary depending on the timing of the migration and the weather patterns so we can optimize the chance to see a peregrine falcon or a migratory raptor in flight.
Please preregister with Larry, and he will let you know which weekend we will be meeting at the Popham Beach State Park parking lot at 9 am. Bring binoculars if you have them and a lunch if you wish; flight patterns can vary depending on the weather patterns, and peak viewing times can be unpredictable.
